Buona Toscana!

Just looking at the photos, even without reading the title, and immediately we know we are in Tuscany. That look of leisure, of buildings steeped with history and wine, of lunches in the vineyards on the hills, romantic walks and famous Tuscan crostini! But now let’s talk about this agrotourism resort because it’s really worth it. It is near Siena, and halfway between Florence and Rome, more precisely at Torrita di Siena, in the Lupaia area, from which this place takes its name. Places on foundations that are a thousand years old, these buildings certainly have a solid base to start on. We have the main house and 5 stone cottages for the rooms, restored with much taste and attention. Stone, wood, greenery and tradition are the 4 key words that organize this resort. The rooms, although made from farmhouses, are the real gems equipped with every comfort and furnished in Tuscan style. Other walls, exposed roof beams, and the furniture that follows the line of color and style of the rest of the building. Large beds of thin and linear structures, white and soft sheets and towels, soft lighting with a warm color, lots of wood and furniture almost like in the past. Almost because we doubt there could have been similar bathtubs a thousand years ago. The exterior leaves space for mother nature to do her work as an excellent decorator. The plants climb, rise, crawl, and run wherever they can gain the place of honor on the outdoor furniture. The living room and kitchen are all that we would expect if we were to imagine them with our eyes closed. A large antique fireplace, the wood of the ceiling, the dark parquet flooring, the oil paintings from a few centuries ago, and strictly wooden tables and chairs shout Tuscan osteria. The kitchen with its enormous iron and copper hood, decorated all around with pots and a mass of chef’s tools, is the perfect place in which to place everything we could eat for breakfast, and even the food in this case is decor, because if you think of Tuscany, the first thing you think of is food, then wine, then landscapes. A pool with clean lines that does not want to attract too much attention completes the picture of a complete resort, because we from here would not easily go. In conclusion: if you are here for the food, the wine, the hills and vineyards of Montepulciano, or only to relax, La Lupaia is the place for you. A bike ride through the olive groves followed by a glass and some crostini, and the dream is complete. Happy Tuscany!
