The architect Vincent van Duysen, well known for his minimalist style, is the author of the interior that we’re going to show you in our post today. This is the renovation of a small building in the center of Antwerp, which has been transformed into a cutting-edge concept where every floor tells a story. The property includes a restaurant in the basement, a boutique at street level, an art gallery on the first floor while on the top floor there is a large apartment / residence that can be rented for short and long periods. The transformation project, consisting in creating a small multi functional space, was a great challenge both structurally and conceptually. The original façade was kept, while the interior underwent a total refurbishment which includes the addition of a floor to give space to the apartment in the photos. It is an unconventional “hotel”  which wants to be more of a “home” to guests, a comfortable and friendly place, while keeping the services of a hotel. The space is bright with large windows overlooking a terrace full of plants in terracotta pots, giving the exterior views a pleasant Mediterranean touch. The living area revolves around a large fireplace which together with the wooden ceiling contribute to create an really intimate atmosphere.
