Benvenuti a Roma.

The Eternal City. We are in Rome, in the historic center, just a stone’s throw away from Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, and all the other main attractions of this splendid city.

Hotel dei Barbieri is located on two floors of a seventeenth-century building, Palazzo Cavallerini Lazzaroni, which was renovated by the architecture firm MORQ that is based in Italy and Australia. The beautiful result looks like a game of hide-and-seek between the modern and the ancient, due to the thousands of constraints imposed by Sovrintendenza and Unesco that forced the hand the designers to create an envelope, that was nearly untouched by the architects, with a world of refinement and modernism inside.

Arriving at the hotel, we find ourselves in front of the original entrance to the building, with the stone moldings still remaining from the past and bars on the wrought iron windows, but after crossing this threshold, we immediately find ourselves in a totally different setting. A reception area in pure white, with a long smooth counter, two pots of plants, a cream-colored sofa, and a small table, all enclosed by a stone herringbone tile floor and a vaulted ceiling. The same floor and vaulted ceilings continue into the corridors that wind through the hotel and take us to the bedrooms. With 3 choices, including standard, superior, and suites, we will have no problem finding the room for us, all equipped with every comfort, spacious suites, which have king size beds. The bedrooms look like a real collage of vintage and new. With their smooth gray-colored walls, in different tones, they convey an air of serenity, completed by the large beds, some of which with stone bases, which correspond with the bathroom coatings and marble sinks. Nothing is missing, just us! If we have already visited Rome, or if it is a city (unfortunately) foreign to us, nothing prevents us from booking a room in this beautiful hotel to enjoy a weekend, or a week, in this incredible city. Let’s organize an itinerary and leave!

Welcome to Rome.
