Come fosse uscito da un film di Wes Anderson. Con il suo look finemente curato, ma con una buona quantità di caos studiato, colori e contrapposizioni, simmetrie e textures. Ci troviamo in California, all’hotel Joaquin. Uno stabile pieno di personalità pronto ad accoglierci e a renderci parte della sua storia. Un look particolare, irriverente, con una vena anni 70, ma una ricercatezza moderna. Già solo l’area del soggiorno è un putiferio di forme, colori, materiali e textures. Dalla poltrona in pelle con lo schienale a mezzaluna in stile africano, alle due lampade da terra con il paralume bianco, che sembrano quasi due armi convertite in luci, ai quadri astratti misti alle maschere in lego e agli specchi, fino al tappeto in pelo di mucca ma con una nota importante rossa. Insomma, tanto arredamento e tante decorazioni, ognuna per portare un pezzo in più di storia del posto. Anche lo stile del bancone del bar ci lascia un po perplessi: Un muro solido in mattoni e cemento non rivestito, con sopra una lastra specchiata in ferro che fa da bancone. Due dettagli uno in opposizione all’altro, che messi insieme funzionano! Le camere da letto si presentano con un look meno movimentato e caotico, ma sempre sula stessa linea di design. Pareti bianche, qualche dettaglio artistico astratto, molto legno e dei dettagli in pelle. Ma la parte migliore è il bagno, dove ogni bagno di decora con un tipo diverso di pietra. Intorno alla vasca, sotto al lavandino o tutto intono, da quella più scura a quella più chiara, quella con più venature e quella meno, sicuramente un pezzo d’arredamento da ammirare per la sua unicità. Ogni bagno ha un rivestimento che solo ed esclusivamente quel bagno può avere.  Rubinetteria in ottone e piastrelle bianche fanno in modo che le pietre siano al centro dell’attenzione. Finiamo in bellezza con il patio, con la piscina e le sue enormi poltrone su cui prendere il sole o addormentarsi, sperando di essersi ricordati di mettere la crema solare! Per una fuga dal freddo inverno europeo, ecco a voi Joaquin Hotel.

Like it came out of a West Anderson film. With its finely curated look, but with a good amount of studied chaos, colors and contrasts, symmetries and textures. We are in California, at Hotel Joaquin. An establishment full of personality ready to welcome us and make us a part of its story. A particular, irreverent look with a vein of the 70s, but a modern refinement. Already only the common area is a mess of shapes, colors, materials and textures. From the African style leather sofa with the crescent-shaped backrest, to the two floor lamps with white lampshades, that seem almost like two weapons converted into lights, to abstract paintings mixed with wooden masks and mirrors, up to the carpet in cow hair with an important red note. In short, lots of furniture and lots of decorations, each to bring another piece to the story of the place. Also the style of the bar balcony leaves us a bit perplexed: a solid wall in uncovered brick and cement, with a mirrored iron slab that acts as a counter. Two details, one in opposition to the other, that work when put together! The bedrooms present a less lively and chaotic look, but always on the same line of design. White walls, some abstract artistic details, lots of wood and leather details. But the best part is the bathroom, where each bathroom is decorated with a different type of stone. Around the tub, under the sink or all around, from the darkest to the lightest, with more veins or less, certainly a piece of furniture to admire for its uniqueness. Each bathroom has a coating that only and exclusively that bathroom can have. Faucets in brass and white bathroom tiles done in a way that the stone is the center of attention. We finish in beauty with the patio, with the pool and its enormous lounge chairs to soak up the sun or sleep, hoping you remembered to put on sunscreen!
